Recently the environment surrounding the manufacturing industry has been characterized by a serious labor shortage and the need of shorten the cycle time to introduce new products, as well as the need to produce products in variable types and quantities, and to enhance automation to replace manual labor for simple and difficult tasks. This presentation will introduce the efforts and effects of robot integration solutions using OMRON's "Robot Integrated Controller," which enables throughput improvement of production equipment using robots in response to these changes, simulation of production equipment design and modification in a virtual environment, and remote maintenance.
